I really love this quote from the book “Exhausted to Energized” by Dr. Libby Weaver , she is amazing, and I love her work, in fact when I was looking for ways to improve my health and recover from my adrenal fatigue symptoms.. this quote really stroke a cord with!
“You have to be healthy to have energy. And if you don’t have energy, rather than get frustrated with fatigue, see it as feedback – your body is asking you to eat, drink, move, think, breathe, believe or perceive in a new way. It can be a gift if we choose to see it this way, a gift asking us to bring curiosity to the question: Why am I so tired?”
I guess somehow I knew that intuitively but reading it just reaffirmed it.. that’s when I decided to look at my life and observe with curiosity (no judgement or guilt) just trying to see with fresh eyes and look deep within what I needed, what my body, my mind and my soul needed from me.
Clearly having adrenal fatigue wasn’t fun, but it served as an invitation to reflect. I had to stop and rest! And trust me.. being an Aries that’s so fucking hard! We don’t stop.. we go head first and soldier on!
I had to uncover where in my life I was not living in alignment with my values,
I had to see where I was doing too much,
I had to look at what I was consuming and I am not talking just food and drinks.. but who I was hanging out with and what I was listening to.
I had to look deep where I wasn’t taking care of my inner needs, where I was neglecting my physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
I had to really acknowledge the patterns, beliefs and mental chatter that weren’t serving me!
This search within was not a walk in the park.. but it has been and still is the best thing I have done..
Looking back now I am so blessed to have gone through it because this was the start of my own Thriving Journey and I am so passionate about sharing this journey and helping other mamas in their own Thriving Journey so they don’t have to do it alone!
I know this may sound like a lot to do.. but for today just ask yourself with a curious heart and an open mind…
What can I do today to take care of myself?
What do I need today to feel happy and healthy?
And whatever comes up… Do that!
One step at a time dear mama…
To your Thriving Journey, with Love
